Amazing Indian food with rich flavors and beautiful presentation! Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine!
A last-minute decision to dine here, and wow—what a fantastic experience! The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. We couldn’t have been more impressed. Highly recommend!”
The prices were far too high for food that didn’t impress. The Tandoori platter for the entrée was decent, but the rest of the meal was underwhelming. The lamb biryani lacked any real flavor, and the pistachio kulfi had way too much mint essence. The naan was tiny and thin for the price they charged, and the mango lassi was a small, tasteless portion compared to other Indian restaurants. The service was lacking, too. The servers weren’t attentive, and we were only given a minimal amount of warm water. When we asked for takeaway containers, we were told there would be a $1 charge per container—after we’d already put the food inside. To spend over $150 and then be asked for an extra $2 felt ridiculous. It was a Saturday night, and we were rushed out by 9:15pm. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and we won’t be returning.
Our family of 5 enjoyed a leisurely and throughly delicious lunch today. Authentic flavours, great service, and all plates were left clean - a clear sign of appreciation from 3 kids with varying tastes. We look forward to returning soon!
Good and fresh food. Will recommend, however, with caution because disappointed and concerned about some false advertising - Kashmiri naan is advertised with dry fruits, nuts but all we had were dessicated coconuts and bindi do pyaza lacked any flavour or punch. Would rate higher if these were rectified.
I had a great meal at Mumtaz Indian Restaurant! The service was really good—friendly and helpful, making us feel comfortable. We enjoyed their tasty curry, which was full of flavor and just the right amount of spice. For dessert, we had gulab jamun and pista kulfi. The gulab jamun was soft and sweet, while the pista kulfi was creamy and nice. I definitely recommend this place for a yummy meal!
I had a great experience at Mumtaz Indian Restaurant today. Chef Jiya is an amazing woman who serves you with utmost love and respect. All the delicacies were scrumptious. I highly recommend this place for lunch. Ms. Jiya, thanks for the delicious food ♥️
They put the holding on the front mirror best indian rest, but i think they are worst ind rest bcz specialy for their service. This is my second time order the food from them, my first experience was realy bad but as a new of them i give them another chance for just small takeaway 2 curries & half tandoori chicken last night. I placed a order 8:25 pm on the phone & they said to me 30 mins. I went there to pickup my food around 9:10 pm.food was not ready. Then lady cameout give me excuse we give your food to someone else.both times same lady cameout & gave me the different excuse. Also she said she is the Headchef here. But very strange headchef serving on the tables, taking a payments pickup dishes from the tables🤔🤔i picked up my food around 9:30.i will never go back.also i am going to upload a receipt of the food, might they can say its fake order.
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐲 Usually I don't write reviews for restaurant food even if they don't meet my expectations. But I thought that I needed to write a review for the food that I bought from Mumtaaz Indian Bistro, Surrey Hills. This was the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 we ever had from a restaurant in the past 17 years after we moved to Melbourne. The meat and the rice in the biryani was not even cooked properly and the Dal Makhani seemed to be boiled Dal with Onion. We spent around $127 (bill attached) and couldn't even finish the food. We tried to return the unfinished food back to the restaurant and requested to meet the Manager or the Owner but instead the lady staff brought the cook to talk to us. Restaurants like these put the wrong message out and people might think this is what Indian food tastes like. My request to the hotel staff is to please check your food before you serve them to your customers.
